Short answer: Story Teller is a free web app with illustrated stories for young children. Every story switches between English and Chinese (中文) with one tap, and there's no account or download.
What's in it
- Short picture stories of 10 illustrated scenes each: Luna the Curious Bunny, Pip the Penguin's Big Wave, Milo and the Missing Star, The Brave Little Fox and The Kindness Garden.
- A comic series: Edward and the Thunder Valley, in 20 issues.
- Chapter books with recurring heroes Edward and Cherich, from 6 to 33 chapters each, including Edward and the Iron Moon and Cherich and the Valley of Sleeping Stars.
Why it helps bilingual families
Reading the same story in both languages lets a child follow a familiar plot while hearing new words. Read a scene in one language, then tap to switch and read it again in the other.
